Can a non-Muslim Say Ramadan Mubarak? The religion of Islam is more about humanity, it is not oriented towards the Muslims only. It talks about the betterment of all human kinds, Muslims is not allowed to disrespect or disregard anyone merely on the basis of color, caste, creed, etc. This means that Islam promotes brotherhood, one cannot impose Islam on anyone.

Because saying “Ramadan Mubarak” is causing no harm or disrespect to a Muslim or the religion. Instead, it is spreading love and peace. By saying the phrase “Ramadan Mubarak” it means that one is not only greeting Ramadan but is saying “Have a blessed holy month of Ramadan “.

There is no harm in accepting the greetings from a non-Muslim because it spreads a message of peace and Islam as a religion welcomes everyone. One can also take it in the context that if a non-Muslim is wishing you, Ramadan Mubarak 2019, then it a step towards learning the religion Islam, or they at least know the importance of the holy month.

This should be appreciated by the Muslims, no matter what differences you hold regarding religion and beliefs. If a non-Muslim comes to you and greets you about the holy month of Ramadan with a smile on their face, this should be taken positively.

Talking in the context that what if a person who is a non-muslim chooses not to wish about the holy month of Ramadan. For example, you are living in a county where non-muslins are a majority and you as Muslims do not get any greetings and wishes about the holy month of Ramadan.

This would be offensive that will not be when a non-muslim would choose to do so. Islam is a religion of expression, there is nothing wrong in accepting the greeting from a non-Muslim merely on the basis that he or she is not a born Muslim. The month of Ramadan is all about spreading love and peace among mankind.

When a Muslim is doing charity and is distributing food in the holy month of Ramadan, do you ask the person that he is a Muslim or a non-muslim?

No, we do not, that exactly the case where you should not get offended by a non-muslim wishing you about the holy month of Ramadan. Leave the intentions to Allah Almighty, because he is the one and only who knows what lies beneath the heart. You are no one to judge, greeting each other about your holy occasions with good intentions might make someone really happy that you end up in Allah’s good books.

Despite the differences based on color, caste, creed, and beliefs, we all are humans and we should welcome each other wholeheartedly.
